EXCLUSIVE: Leaked Images Reveal Russian based PMC Presence Amid Altis Cease-Fire

Leaked images have shown operatives from the Russian based PMC, SOVREIGN, operating on Altis, in spite of a tentative cease-fire agreement.

AAN News has received an anonymously leaked image showing the presence of an alleged Russian PMC, known as SOVREIGN1, on the Island of Altis. The image, allegedly taken in early July, shows a wounded SOVREIGN member armed with western rifles & significant body armour. The anonymous source claims this photo was taken after the SOVREIGN soldier was injured in combat with AAF backed security forces during a routine patrol.

SOVREIGN is a newly formed PMC based out of the Russia-Kazakhstan border region, with very little publicly known information. AAN’s in-house analysts have discovered very little about the group, except for a handful of public social media posts from supposed members.

These posts primarily consist of supposed members in military uniforms shooting various inanimate targets with rudimentary Soviet Era firearms. AAN’s analysis teams have determined this range to be within the aforementioned border region. The discovery of the group on Altis, along with significantly improved western manufactured weaponry, has reportedly caused concern amongst the AAF & their security forces.

This image comes at a time of increased uncertainty surrounding the conflict within the region, with increased international and internal pressure on the Island of Altis, even in spite of the ceasefire agreement. Both the AAF and FIA have repeatedly accused each other of breaking the ceasefire, however so far escalation of conflict has been mostly avoided. It is yet to be seen what impact this new revelation may have on the Island & it’s future.

Whilst researching this story, the AAN approached the Russian and Kazakh Defence ministries for comment. Both have so far refused to acknowledge our request for information.
